Health Promotion

The WHO in Europe staged the Lisbon Conference in 2001 to support Small and Medium Enterprises promoting Workplace Health Promotion (WHP).

 

Cross Cutting Programmes

Danish environment protection programme - cross cutting programme, with a lot of activities to encourage health promotion, (tobacco / alcohol programmes) and kindergarten, and to provide better nutrition, and advice to small companies to do more on health and safety.

AFA, an insurance company owned by the social partners, is investing in one of the biggest projects to improve health and the work environment ever run in Sweden. It was started in August with a sum of SEK 100 million allocated for this nationwide project, which will run for at least two years. The aim is to improve health, bring down absenteeism, disability pensioning and occupational injuries, and also to introduce more effective rehabilitation. For more see Prevent
