Those suppliers that are using Paraquat (Trade name Gramoxone) within their supply bases are to be notified that the chemical is to enter the Prior Informed Consent (PIC) review process starting in 2010.

If Paraquat is adopted at the end of this (into Annex III), then we Cooperative Retail will be moving this pesticide from its current status of 'monitored' into 'prohibited'.

Can you please bear this in mind, and where it is being used outside of the EU, (please note is not allowed for use within the EU - see EU Court decision pdf & Syngenta response) if there are alternatives then these should be switched into.
