| What you need to know | |
| EC regulation has been amended so that the following chemicals have been added to list of chemicals subject to export notification procedure and qualifying for Prior Informed Consent (PIC) notification . Dimethenamid, phosalone, alachlor, thiodicarb, carbosulfan, haloxyfop-R, carbaryl, trichlorofon and malathion have been banned for pesticide use. Perfluoroctane sulfonates are severely restricted for industrial use. Fenitrothion, dichlorovos, diazinon and diuron. These substances have been identified and notified for evaluation under Directive 98/8/EC and therefore may be continued to be authorised by member states until a decision is taken. Azinphos-methyl and vinclozolin, no directive was adopted for these two active substances therefore member states were obliged to withdraw national authorisations of plant protection products containing these substances as from 1 January 2007. Therefore these active substances are banned for pesticide use. |
