- EU law mandates equal work for equal pay, binding on all member countries, including the UK.
- Mentally or physically disabled persons cannot be discriminated against as long as they are able to perform the necessary tasks.
- After maternity leave, the employee has a right to return to her job.
- Pregnant women or women on maternity leave may not be dismissed for reasons not related to pregnancy where there is clear evidence.
- If your organisation employees more than 15 people, you must make reasonable adjustments for disabled employees to enable work/continue working at your site.
- You must ask for proof of identification for ALL workers including UK citizens ie not just foreign workers.
