| Freedom of Association & Collective Bargaining Safe & Hygienic Working Environment Working Hours Are Not Excessive No Harsh Or Inhumane Treatment
| Regular Employment - UK Law As of the 1st May 2004, any person who starts working for you from one of the new EU ascension states will need to register with the Home Office (workers from Cyprus & Malta do not need to register). Once individuals from these countries (except Cyprus & Malta) have found an employer, they have to register with the Home Office (within 30 days of starting work) which includes providing information about their employer. This registration form is sent off with a letter or contract of employment, 2 photos, passport and a registration fee of £50. THe Home Office will, if the application is valid, send the worker a registration card and a registration certificate specific to the employer. A copy of this certificate will also be sent to the employer. You should keep a copy of this certificate in the personnel file of the worker. If a worker changes jobs the same form will have to be completed again and a new certificate issued free of charge. The worker is responsible for registering, not the employer. However employers will be committing an offence unless they hae evidence that the worker has submitted an application form within a month of starting work or if they continue to employ someone after receiving a notice of refusal of a certificate. ![]() | ||||||
