Action Plan - Background information

The Action PLan will be developed along lines set out by UK government for Environmental Reporting

This includes: (click for more DEFRA guidance)

Step 1 Identify a champion. this could be anybody you consider is suitably responsible. They could already be a supervisor or employee representative. They would ensure that the Action Plan is implemented and involves others as much as possible. You may have different people for different criteria or keep same throughout.
They would then:

Step 2 Review the present state of affairs. You have already identified in the "Assess" activity the current state of affairs. You just need to idenitify priorities for action.

Step 3 Set targets for improvement. This means setting realistic (SMART) targets. Targets spell out what is going to be done by when.

Step 4 Achieve your targets. By having clear visble targets more people can help achieve them. Set out how you and/or your champion will organise to achieve the targets.

Step 5 Report the outcome. This plan will be "submitted" electronically to the Co-op. There will then be an electronic dialogue to determine what support may be necessary.

Step 6 Repeat the cycle. Next time round, you hope that you will be able to doemonstrate an improvement - thereby fulfilling the requirment of Criterion 10 - "Continual Improvement".
