Co-operative Retail is producing Product Advisory Sheets to advise on pesticide use for particular products.

Our ultimate goal is to progressively reduce pesticide use whilst maintaining sustainable, quality crop production.

This Code gives:

! Details on the pesticides available and give advice on how to select the safest and most appropriate to your crop.

! An overall Co-op Pesticide ranking to allow prioritising between agro-chemicals. This is based on the various pesticides' environmental persistence, environmental toxicity and affect on human health (WHO Toxicity Class).

! Cultural, biological and mechanical control methods as alternative or additional measures.
