Safe & Hygienic Working Environment - Law

  • The law allows for workers to remove themselves from work situations that endanger health or safety without jeopardy to their continued employment.

This means that:

  • Production sites should comply with all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Hazards should be identified and removed where possible.
  • When it is not possible to remove the hazard, risk to workers should be minimised as far a possible.
  • Workers should be trained in all aspects of health and safety which affect them.
  • Workers should have access at all times to an adequate number of clean washrooms and to clean drinking water.
  • Adequate fire fighting equipment and fire escapes must be provided
  • Health and Safety should be the responsibility of a senior manager.
