Assess the risk.

The aim of the evaluation is not to come to some scientific truth but to set priorities.

Read Guidance for Environmental Risk Assessment - Chapter 7, and assess the relevant importance of the environmental social and economic factors in your assessment.

Use our Matrix to assess a range of risks - first for local risks, then worldwide.

Make three sets of assessments - either physical chemical biological geographic or climatic.

Remember the aim is to come to an assessment of the likelihood and possible severity of the risks, in order to provide the basis for future control, in the next few steps.
