Measuring Energy - external

Extraction of raw materials, processing, delivery and disposal all use energy. Although much of this use is outside your direct control, looking at a product from source to disposal, called life cycle analysis, will present opportunities for mitigating the carbon associated with your organisations processes and products.

Now extend the In - On - Out to include supplies, products and wastes.

Example:

image: measuring
What comes in What goes on What goes out
Raw materials - plastic granules Curing, Extruding Plastic tubing, waste offcuts
Metal widgets Lathe turning Compound widgets, waste metal filings
Paper Printing Leaflets, waste inks, wastepaper

Members can now go to the database and answer the questions on 'Measuring Energy'

Next you will need to count your measurements in CO2e
